When you solarise your house, a new meter will be installed which both will record your consumption of electricity as well as the surplus electricity you deliver to the grid. TXU will pay you 7.5 ¢ / kWh for surplus generation. The total amount you receive will depend on the size of the system and the amount of surplus energy you produce each month.
The TXU Energy Solar Program is currently available only in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, served by Oncor. The program is only available to free-standing, single family homes with sufficient south facing roofs in good condition. A high speed broadband connection is also recommended to facilitate the solar panel monitoring system.
