PayPal can become independent of eBay

This is not the first time that this proposal, but according to some information a few candidates for CEO of PayPal was given this possibility.

Until now, PayPal is eBay and the services are fully integrated and dependent on each other, but already in January the investor Carl Icahn pressed eBay to separate the payments unit, however backed down in April. Did not fail to keep the idea in the future, however was not yet the time.

The own eBay CEO John Donahoe has said several time that PayPal is a business by integrating the eBay and the separation makes no sense. However, this opinion may be changing, according to The Information.

The former PayPal CEO, David Marcus, left for Facebook and in finding a replacement, has been given the information to potential candidates who should have a strategy ready for separation from PayPal.

Some analysts believe that the separation of the service will bring more customers to PayPal, including some retailers who aren't currently interested due to the proximity of the PayPal and eBay, one of the largest electronic commerce sites in the world.
