Learn how to choose your phone and Android tablet!

Daily, thousands of Portuguese spend more time with the Android than with anything else. Is the mobile operating system more used in Portugal that wakes up in the morning, controls the agenda, gives news, music, videos. Basically, it's the Android which links them to the world.

The manufacturer is very important!

Google (of course) and Asus are from manufacturers that have faster launch updates. Samsung, Sony and HTC are quite slow. Primarily for phones that are not top of the line. IE oldest ranges is very likely never arrive to receive updates to the latest versions of Android. If you choose a phone operator the scenario is even worse. There, updates are limited to security addressed by Google. That is, if you can choose a Nexus, the brand of the Google devices that bring the Android in its purest state, will have access to updates more quickly.

Attention on purchase!

The screen resolution, processor speed, storage and the existence of a SIM card are vital in choosing your new smartphone or tablet. It should not be forgotten that the Android is a system that tends to get slower as time goes by. Therefore, although a larger investment, seek to acquire a device that has these characteristics:

Two cores (minimum) even so, if the Android version is already the 4.1 will notice some losses of fluidity. However, the two processing cores are the minimum to ensure that doing m correct investment. Who have a larger budget must find the four nuclei that are in smartphones and tablets range tops. Enough storage from 8 GB will be ideal. Please note, also, if there are expansion via MicroSD card (always says in the phone settings or tablet). In addition to being important, because it gives you more space to store the data, it is important in Android because it can, must, choose to install the applications-already explained further on.

The screen resolution and the density of pixels are very important as they are, the better the user experience. Is, for example, reading, surfing the Web and, of course, to play. If money permits, invest on a screen somewhere in the 4 inch and with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. We guarantee that the use will be good.

SIM card ... or not? On your smartphone this question does not arise, but the tablet is crucial because the devices cost, on average, over 100 euros. Our advice is to only buy with card if: the tablet is for professional use and cannot afford to be without access to the Web; have a smartphone with very limited data plan; don't have WiFi at home and is not EN or client; and live outside of an urban centre where WiFi hotspots are scarce. Otherwise, it won't compensate for investing in mobile connectivity model. Stick by Wi-Fi. You can always use your smartphone to "network" the tablet and, if client or PT, has thousands of open hotspots scattered throughout the country-and in some cases even in Europe. And 4 g, is it worth it? The 3 g still has a lot to offer and this must be your priority. This means that you can view video and load websites without great fluidity breaks. However, the 4 g is the future. If you need a lot of bandwidth (for example, better quality videos, download/upload larger files, streaming direct TV) should consider the investment. Remember that the 4 g will steal autonomy and that the country is not yet complete.
