Scientists want to record sound from around the planet

The project will start within a few weeks, with sensors to be placed in the State of Indiana, USA. The goal is to use microphones and other instruments for recording, for a year, the sound of planes, from earthquakes, the call of the bats and the song of birds during their migrations.

The investigation of Bryan's Pijanowksi about the sound ecology. There is what I call the rhythms of nature. There are certain periods such as choirs in the morning and certain crescendos during some time says PIjanowski. According to this researcher, detect and interpret these patterns can help to better understand the State of health of our planet, News The Verge.

The great challenge of Pijanowski and all that accompany it will even be able to find the really important sounds from the huge amounts of sounds that are recorded. In just a few years of research, there are already tens of thousands of hours of footage to be analyzed. This analysis is done using the algorithms, but the investigation has yet to be perfected.
