More than 20 million watch the most lucrative video game tournament ever

More than 20 million people watched online and in straight to the Dota tournament 2. At peak, over two million users were watching the tournament at the same time. The first place continues to belong to the end of League of Legends last year, with 32 million viewers.

The fourth edition of the contest of Dota 2 delivered the biggest prize still seen in competitions of this sort, about 10 million dollars. It was the first time that a tournament of video games can be broadcast on a TV channel in the USA, ESPN, CCTV in China, and Europe, MTG Europe.

The Valve was able to collect only data of the users that were connected online, view on the PC and did not include those who watched the tournament on television or who have activated the option of being a spectator within the game itself.
