Mario Kart 8 sells well, but not enough to attract new users to the Wii U

One of the great hopes of Nintendo is a popular game as Mario Kart could help attract new users to purchase the Wii U. Mario Kart sales 8 to have been right, but the problem is that most users that are buying the console. In the quarter between April and June were sold 2.82 million copies of the game, more than half of the games sold for the Wii U in this period and enough to be the third best game console ever. The Verge analysis indicates that revenue fell 8.4 percent to 731 million dollars and that the company will have registered a loss of 97.1 million.


Sales of the 3DS also fell to the 820 thousand units, against 1.4 million recorded in the same quarter of last year.

Now, it is expected that Super Smash Bros for the 3DS and Wii U can help Nintendo to resurface, at a time when not predict major blockbusters in the pipeline. It is known that the company is preparing the launch of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, a 3D puzzle game and Bayonetta 2, developed by Platinum Games.

Another bet will go through the launch of a game with action figures that connect via NFC, Skylanders style.
